The Bailey Engineering Academy
Our purpose built Engineering Academy was opened in Leeds in 1969. Since then we have delivered award winning technical, professional and apprenticeship training to thousands of employees.
Our apprenticeship programme
We are constantly developing our apprenticeship programme to ensure it continues to deliver some of the best training in our industry, giving us achievement rates well above the industry and national averages.
Since the formation of the Bailey Engineering Academy, we have trained over 4,000 apprentices, many of whom have won national and industry awards, and some have gone on to take up senior management positions in our company.

The Engineering Academy continues to support the development of our people long after their apprenticeship, through technical, education and professional development including:
- Professional Accreditation routes i.e. CIBSE, IET, RICS and EI
- Foundation, Honours and Integrated Masters Degrees
- Project Management (APM)
- IOSH Managing and Working Safely
- Inspection, Testing and Certification Certificates (2391)
- Leadership training for Site Supervisors, CMI Diploma in Team Leading
- 17th Edition Regulations
Our success rates in these courses are enviable, with 99% passing IOSH Managing and Working Safely course, 87% passing their 17th Edition Regulations course, and 80% passing our Site Supervisors course.
